All New Warner Bros’ Movies Will Be Available on HBO Max Platform in 2021

All of Warner Bros’ new movies will be available for streaming on HBO Max the same day they come out in theaters in 2021. Some of these titles will include: In the Heights, Space Jam: A New Legacy, The Suicide Squad and Dune. Each film will be available to stream for one month, after which they will be removed from the platform, while continuing to play in theaters.

This move to an HBO Max release comes amid the recent coronavirus pandemic, which has forced theater closures and reduced capacity. CEO of Warner Bros. Ann Sarnoff commented on the company’s decision to release their films on the streaming platform stating, “No one wants films back on the big screen more than we do. We know new content is the lifeblood of theatrical exhibition, but we have to balance this with the reality that most theaters in the U.S. will likely operate at reduced capacity throughout 2021.”

The films released on HBO Max will be streamed in 4k Ultra HD and HD. Wonder Woman 1984 is set to be the first of the batch released both on the service and in theaters December 25th.
