Ken Jennings Named as Jeopardy Interim Host

Ken Jennings, author and former Jeopardy contestant, has been chosen to be the interim host of the game show Jeopardy. He is set to be the first in a series of guest hosts that will carry the show until a permanent one is found following former host Alex Trebek’s death on November 8th.

Executive producer of Jeopardy Mike Richards commented on the shows’ decision to make Jennings the first temporary host stating,  “Alex believed in the importance of Jeopardy! and always said that he wanted the show to go on after him. We will honor Alex’s legacy by continuing to produce the game he loved with smart contestants and challenging clues. By bringing in familiar guest hosts for the foreseeable future, our goal is to create a sense of community and continuity for our viewers.”

The first episodes with Jennings’ as host will air during the week of January 11th. During the week prior, Jeopardy will be airing Trebek’s last taped episodes.
