Charli D’Amelio Is First Person to Hit 100 Million Followers On Tik Tok Platform

TikTok’s biggest creator, Charli D’Amelio, became the first user on the app to hit 100 million followers Sunday morning. The event marks a major milestone in the teens’ career, which began less than two years ago. The Verge commented on D’Amelio’s rise in success adding that it also marks a major milestone for all social-media stars, as it took the first YouTuber around 14 years to gain a following as large as she has in a small fraction of the time.

In addition to her videos on the app’s platform, D’Amelio participated in many other public events which contributed to her following. In February, she was featured in the Sabra hummus Super Bowl commercial. In September, she made another major step by beginning a partnership with Dunkin’ Donuts, who even named a drink after her. D’Amelia has also announced that she will be releasing her first book, titled “Essentially Charli: The Ultimate Guide to Keeping It Real,” in December.
