Judge Denies Britney Spears, Father Remains as Co-Conservator

Los Angeles Superior Court Judge Brenda Penny denied singer-songwriter Britney Spears of her request to have her father be completely removed as her conservator. According to CBS Los Angeles reports, following the verdict, Penny told Spears and her legal team that she would, however, not rule out hearing similar requests in the future.

According to the Associated Press, in the recent court documents filed by Spears and her legal team, she had accused her father of having the intentions “to retain full functional control of her assets, books and records in the face of Britney’s objections.” They added that her father had appointed a business manager for her company to replace the previous one who had resigned without her knowing nor her consent.

Spears’ initial request had been to have the Bessemer Trust Co. take over her conservatorship entirely rendering her father’s complete removal, however Penny’s final decision stated that the company would be appointed as a co-conservator alongside Spears’ father Jamie.
