Alex Trebek Passes Away From Cancer At Age 80

Long-time show host of American quiz show Jeopardy, Alex Trebek, has reportedly passed from cancer. On Sunday, the Jeopardy official Twitter account posted a tribute saying their former host “passed away peacefully at home,” with friends and family.

Trebek, who has been the host for Jeopardy since 1984, first announced he had been diagnosed with stage-four pancreatic cancer in March 2019. However, the host made it very clear to viewers that he wasn’t going without a fight, joking that he “had” to survive because of his contractual agreement with the show.

Following Jeopardy’s post, many others also shared their condolences for Trebek’s passing including former contestants, fellow celebrities, and Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau, who stated that Trebek was “a proud Canadian and beloved TV star who was a familiar face to millions of people across North America and around the world”.
