Jamie Foxx’s Sister Passes Away at Age 36

Actor Jamie Foxx’s younger sister, DeOndra Dixon, has reportedly passed away at age 36. Foxx confirmed her death by sharing a collage of pictures featuring both images of the two together and others solely of his sister on his official Instagram. The actor captioned the post stating: “My heart is shattered into a million pieces….” going on to recount numerous memories he had with Dixon.

Dixon had struggled with Down Syndrome since birth, however she overcame those struggles and was awarded with the honor of being named an ambassador of the Global Down Syndrome Foundation in 2011. Dixon revealed that her dream was to become a professional dancer and was given the opportunity to live out a part of that dream by being featured in Foxx’s music video for ‘Blame It,” which the actor described in his post, was one of his fondest memories he had of her.

As told by Foxx in his tribute, her memory lives on with him along with their family and many others and “she is in heaven now dancing with her wings on…”
