KFC Suspends ‘Finger Lickin’ Good’ Slogan
Fast food giant, Kentucky Fried Chicken, has issued an official statement saying they are suspending their infamous 64-year old “Finger Lickin’ Good” campaign slogan, acknowledging it’s “probably not a good idea right now.” KFC stated their old-time slogan just “doesn’t feel quite right,” since the coronavirus outbreak guidance from leading health officials has continuously urged people to avoid touching their face. The iconic global marketing slogan has been blurred from view on current advertising campaigns, including billboards and ads. KFC has taken every safety precaution since March, closing its dining rooms, encouraging drive-thru and delivery services, implementing pre-shift employee health screenings and requiring masks. They have also installed Plexiglas safety shields on all restaurant counters to separate customers from staff. After seeing a sharp decline in sales for several months, Yum! Brands KFC division is finally bouncing back as customers return to indulge in their favorite fast-food comfort cravings. The company stated they will bring back their iconic “Finger Lickin’ Good” slogan at a future time when it is appropriate to do so.
