Hurricane Laura Escalating to Category 3
It was Tropical Storm Laura. Now it is Category 1 Hurricane Laura. Soon it will be a Category 3 as Laura makes its way to the coast of Texas and Louisiana. Evacuation orders have been issued in coastal areas along the Gulf as they prepare for another major storm.
Experts say that Laura could become a major Category 3 Hurricane by Wednesday evening or Thursday morning. Most projections have it heading straight for the coast of Louisiana and Texas. Laura will be the second storm to hit the region this week. Tropical Storm Marco was the first to arrive yesterday but was greatly weakened when it made landfall. All eyes have been on Laura since it started to form but it is of great relief that the region won’t be slammed by two hurricanes in less than a week.
