NBA Draft Lottery

The 2020 NBA draft lottery will be held on Thursday, August 20, at 8:30 P.M. Eastern Time following the second game of the Bucks-Magic series on ESPN. The Golden State Warriors, the Cleveland Cavaliers, and the Minnesota Timberwolves have the greatest odds of receiving the first overall pick of the draft and a 40% chance to have a top-three pick. With that being said, the new lottery system has made it extremely uncertain as to who will land at the top of the draft order. With the NCAA March Madness Tournament being cancelled because of the global pandemic, players who declared for the draft are excited to start their new journey in the NBA. There is some debate within the league about who the first overall pick in the draft will eventually be. Many believe that Georgia’s guard, Anthony Edwards, could be a great fit in the small-ball Warriors offense if they end up getting the first overall pick. Memphis’, James Wiseman, and Lonzo Ball’s younger brother, LaMelo Ball, are also in the conversation.
