Trump’s Phone Calls Alarm Officials
In an article written by renowned journalist Carl Bernstein, and reported on CNN, Trump has posed a threat to national security in hundreds of phone calls with other heads of state. In his recent memoir, former national security adviser, John Bolton, wrote Trump was consistently unprepared and unqualified to discuss major issues. Bolton’s book details how Trump’s behavior set off alarm bells in his dealings with China, and foreign affairs in general. Bernstein’s report goes on to say Trump’s calls with powerful world leaders, such as Russia’s President Putin and Turkey’s President Erdogan, aided in convincing senior level U.S. officials that the President was frequently “delusional” when talking with high level foreign leaders. They went on to say, Trump honed his skills thinking he could either charm or bully any foreign leader and often pursued matters related to his own personal agenda, rather than that of the country.
