“Hamilton” Arrives on Disney+ July 3
There’s some exciting news for Broadway fans who may have been disappointed at the unavailable sold-out performances of Hamilton. For those who couldn’t get tickets to the live show, a film adaptation will soon be available for fans to watch streaming on subscription-based Disney Plus, beginning on July 3rd. The movie was originally scheduled to be released in theaters, but was moved to a digital streaming platform due to theater closures amid the coronavirus pandemic. The tale of Hamilton is hailed as a creatively modern hip-hop telling of the story of Alexander Hamilton and his journey of becoming a U.S. founding father. In 2016, its Broadway playwright, Lin-Manuel Miranda, won 11 Tony Awards as well as the Pulitzer Prize in Drama.
